Over many years, the countries across the globe have developed relationships among each others. Especially, during the last thirty years, the pace of globalization has dramatically increased. Unprecedented changes in communications, transportation, and computer technology have given the globalization process a new impetus and made the world more interdependent than ever. Many multinational corporation and even relatively small corporations produce goods and services in many countries and sell their products around the world.
Furthermore, quite a few companies purchase state owned enterprises and establish partnerships with domestic companies to conduct business around the world. Therefore, capital, technology, raw materials and labor move ever more swiftly across national borders. Consequently, laws, economies, and social movements are forming at the international level. As a result of these developments, economic life has been more complex and difficult to understand. Tools for analyzing domestic and international economic relations have been changing and developing on a daily basis. Hence, the actions of economic actors (such as consumers, corporations, governments, central banks, and international institutions) in different markets need to be analyzed and understood in order to come up with some policy implications. Economic, social and political changes, which started after 1980s in Turkey have made the necessity to design an interdisciplinary graduate program apperant.
Analysis of Economics and Financial Markets Non-thesis Graduate Program is offered under the department of Economics and Financial Analysis. The main aim of this program is to follow recent developments in financial markets and economics, to provide advanced analysis in the field of finance and economics, and to equip the students with scientific and practical tools to clearly understand and analyze the financial and economical relations around the world.
