Turkish Language and Literature


The Department is based on four main subjects of Turkish language and literature:

  1. Old Turkish Language: The historical periods, development and dialects of Turkish.
  2. Modern Turkish Language: The development periods, writing tradition, phonology, morphology, syntax, vocabulary and dialects of the historical and modern Turkey Turkish.
  3. Old Turkish Literature: The first periods of the Turkish Literature elapsed until the formation of the Modern Turkish Literature recorded stage and their comparison with other literatures. Turkish folk literature “Verbal Literature” and “Popular Literature” under the general heading of folk poetry, folk narrative methods and theories in the direction of the present investigation.
  4. Modern Turkish Literature: The development of Turkish Literature, characteristics and relationships with other literatures.
